On 6 – 8 November 2019 YUNIKO has participated to the 7th Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition “Water for All”, held, in Prishtina, Kosovo. Klaas Visscher, YUNIKO’s wastewater expert made a presentation on “Wastewater and Sludge Management”.
The conference took place under the auspices of the Water and Wastewater Works Association of Kosovo (SHUKOS) and the Water Supply and Sewerage Association of Albania (SHUKALB).
The Conference hit another record in participation, attracting over 550 water professionals representing water utilities, donors, private companies and institutions from 16 different countries.
At total, 49 professional presentations were made during the two days of the Conference and 77 moderators and speakers discussed the challenges faced by the water utilities in the region, as well as the best practices being used. In addition, the plenary sessions focused on four important themes which included: “Water for All”; “Collaborative Approach of the Associations of Water Utilities and Local Government in Capacity Development Delivery”; “Water Security and Crisis Management”; “Digitalization, What it Means for the Water Utilities?”.
As usual, the Conference provided a good opportunity for networking among experts from the region and beyond, allowing for exchanges to be made, and new bridges of cooperation established.
